Mission: Accomplished

I guess my bad memory has contributed to me not realizing the gravity of the situation:

I have a job!

A real, live, non-temp, full benefits, full time, well paying JOB!!!

I have been blogging about this since, well, the inception of this blog. I've been looking for a "real job" for so long and have started at so many temp positions over the past year, the fact that tomorrow morning I am waking up to go to a job I don't have to leave in 2 weeks hasn't really hit me.

I am so incredibly grateful that I can finally get settled (and get an iPhone! Yay October 7th for the iPhone5!!!). Ever since graduating June of last year I have been looking and applying for full time, non-temp positions, first in Bellingham and then in the Seattle/Eastside area. I thought I had found great opportunities multiple times over, only to be turned down. The biggest heartbreak (besides the whole "not moving to Bellingham" thing) was when I was passed over for what seemed like the perfect position at a gaming company. I was so thrilled by the possibilities of working with nerds and in an artistic field. I really couldn't see any better option than that.

But the Lord had other plans for me, most (if not all) of which I have yet to understand. Tomorrow I go (back) to Safeway Seattle Division Office and take my place in the ranks as an administrative assistant to the marketing department. I covered the reception desk for 2 weeks about a month ago and garnered some pretty great recommendations while there (so many thanks to Eva and Tracey!). I had a good time while there (that was where I read a ton of books - fortunately this position is much, much, much busier than the front desk!), and everyone is so incredibly kind and friendly. I can't wait to get to know everyone and actually be able to put down roots somewhere so great and at such a solid company.

It may not be in an industry that I am passionate about such as art and nerdery. But I know I am being put here in a time such as this (read the book of Esther). I am so thrilled to have a solid job that will keep me learning, active and most importantly BUSY! I finally feel like I am taking a huge step into being an adult, not just a post-college "I don't know what I'm doing with my life" kid. I am almost 25, afterall...

So, as the good Doctor says: ALLONS Y!

(That's "Let's go!" in French. Goodness I love David Tennant.)

(2 more weeks until new Doctor Who episodes!!!!)
