The image of Whale smoking just cracks me up. Oh, and have I mentioned that this is 100% a true story (as far as I remember)? The first two parts can be found in last Friday's entry.
Alrighty, what else has happened this weekend? Well the biggest thing you'll notice is THE NEW WEB DESIGN! I have decided to switch over to Blogger from iWeb. Why? Because iWeb (a mac application...if you couldn't tell by the preceding "i") is basically made for people who want to make a cute, simple website and then never touch it again. It's not the easiest thing to customize. And Blogger has come a long way since the 5 years or so since I was last here. It's a lot more customize-able and THERE'S COMMENTING!!! Yes, you can now comment on posts! I'd LOVE to hear from everyone who stops by.
However, the bummer thing about this website switch is that things got really screwed up (don't ask me what happened, Ben explained it to be about 5 times and I still have no idea) so for now you can find the site at blog.fledglingcomics.com. Hopefully just plain ol' fledglingcomics will come back some day, but I guess we're waiting for Google to fix itself...or something...more technical.... (My kingdom for understanding web programing!) Also, if you check in using an RSS feed, you'll have to re-subscribe.
Also, I got some design work that's actually paid!!! Granted, it's for a friend's business, but it is a step in the right direction. Wait wait, let me rephrase that: It's getting me paid to make art of some sort. I'm not jonesing for design work because I'm not a designer. But getting paid to "sit around the house" and watch/listen to Lost episodes in the background while making work sounds pretty perfect to me.
Also ALSO: I have started advertising that I'm taking commissions for pet portraits. I have the whole advertisement and price listing on my fine art website (ejmorrell.com) so go take a look. Or if you know someone who adores their dog/cat/horse/bird/ferret/chinchilla/etc and wants them immortalized in painting/drawing/cartoon/comic send them my direction! Say you heard about it from Fledgling Comics and receive 10% off!!!
So that's about it for today. Welcome to the new Fledgling! Thanks for stopping by!!
